Video Depositions

Deposition videographerThis is one of our core services — and our objective is to capture testimony without losing the impact of dynamic events. We shoot with broadcast-quality cameras, and come fully equipped with audio control, wireless lapel microphones, monitors for preview, lighting supplements and background shades. We can also create an audio recording for court reporters. We have produced thousands of video depositions nationwide, and we take pride in a zero-defect product.

CLVS (Certified Legal Video Specialist)

Our video professionals are all Certified Legal Video Specialists. In many courtrooms across the nation, judges are ruling that some video may be inadmissible for various reasons. If your argument hinges on this piece of evidence, your case could be compromised. If your depositions, day-in-the-life videos, and other filmed evidence are taped by a certified legal video specialist, you can have some degree of certainty that your videographer is producing admissible evidence in compliance with all federal and state rules of civil procedure.

Editing

Video editorThe Data Company has state-of-the-art, non-linear digital editing suites. Non-linear video editing eliminates the need to lay down video in real time, and allows the video technician to make changes at any point to remove unwanted footage without affecting the rest of the edit. In addition, using non-linear editing software allows you easily insert other types of media into the video. Our technicians also have the capability of creating video clips from depositions, whether they are synchronized with the transcript or not.

Video and Audio Duplication

The Data Company can duplicate audio and video tapes cost-efficiently with quick turnaround. They can be distributed in a variety of ways including DVD, CD-ROM, or VHS tape.

Day-in-the-Life Videos

Telling the story of an individual's traumatic life change can be very powerful visual evidence. We have years of experience in shooting and editing day-in-the-life documentaries, often combining interview footage, home video, still photographs and graphics to create a profoundly moving representation of the impact of an injury or death. We work closely with attorneys and experts to depict the struggles of daily life for the injured victim.

Settlement Documentaries

Settlement documentaries are a brief preview of your case, however they are not meant to be viewed by a jury. Its sole purpose is to show the strength of the plaintiff's case, and to achieve a settlement before trial. Our professionally created videos can have a strong effect in communicating both liability and damages.

Site Videos

Site videos are taken at the scene of the incident, and can be edited together with interview footage to tell the whole story. On-site videos can also enhance the intricacies and fallacies of construction litigation or even be used as the basis for an animated re-enactment.

Video Conversion & Synchronization

Our video department can take analog videotape or film and transfer it to a digital format so that you can access it from your computer. Video can be stored on a CD, DVD, or hard drive, therefore allowing you to view them anytime, anywhere. We can perform these same services for audio tapes as well.

Our video technicians can load all of your video to a digital repository, synchronize it with the same ASCII text created by the court reporter, and allow you to select the video sequences you need by simply using the page and line numbers from the transcript.

Video conversion and synchronization advantages:

  1. Archiving and safety
  2. Easily transferable for trial presentation
  3. Versatility (Ease of use during travel, at home, etc.)
  4. Portability (CDs vs. boxes of video tapes)

Forensic Video & Audio

Forensics has become commonplace in the legal profession. The Data Company has one of the few technologies outside of the FBI and other agency crime labs that can enhance surveillance footage into a clear and understandable video. It is frequently possible to find a camera that recorded an incident, but making the images recognizable requires a skilled technician and the proper equipment.

The Data Company uses the industry standard Ocean Systems dTective Video Suite for the Avid platform, and our team can de-multiplex surveillance video, highlight action areas, pull stills of relevant action, conceal sensitive portions of video, magnify specific areas and in some instances radically enhance poor quality images. We can perform similar forensic services on audio tapes as well.
